AMPP Central Florida Chapter Scholarship

The AMPP Central Florida Section will award three (3) scholarships in the amount of $750 each to undergraduate, graduate, or 2-year Associates students interested in pursuing a career in coatings or corrosion control. This scholarship was created to recognize outstanding students in Florida who are interested in advancing materials performance to protect society, assets, and the environment.

1. Eligibility Requirements
*Applicants must be enrolled full-time at an accredited college or university in an Undergraduate, Graduate (9 hours for spring/fall or 6 hours for summer), or 2-year Associates program, pursuing a Science or Engineering degree related to the study of coatings or corrosion control.
*Applicants must have a permanent or school residence in Florida.
*Students enrolled in 2-year or junior colleges are eligible to apply.
*Minimum 3.0 Grade Point Average on a 4.0 Scale.

2. Candidate Evaluation – the following information should be included for review by the Selection Committee:
*Completed Application
*Academic transcript
*Two (2) Recommendation Forms from educators or employers familiar with applicants background
*Résumé or CV

3. Travel Assistance Stipend
Recipients of the Central Florida Chapter Academic Scholarship are eligible to receive a travel stipend in order to subsidize their travel to AMPP Annual Conference + Expo and be recognized in-person at the Scholarship Awards Ceremony. Attendance at the Scholarship Awards Ceremony is mandatory in order to receive the stipend. Travel Assistance will be available for pick-up at the conference Registration desk during designated times the following Wednesday. In addition to Travel Assistance provided through EMERG, the AMPP Central Florida Chapter will offer an additional $250 as a travel stipend to recipients traveling to the AMPP Conference + Expo in the year they are selected.

In order to be considered, applicants must meet all Scholarship Eligibility Requirements, successfully submit all required documentation (including recommendations), and answer all required essay questions.
